Søstuen2280 is part of the award-winning tourism business PAN Treetop Cabins. The owners wanted to create a gathering place where cabin guests could experience local culture and gain new experiences in a scenic area. The goal was to make the café a playful, colorful contrast to the modernist and towering PAN cabins.

One half of Søstuen is from a small tenant farm located near the PAN cabins. It was dismantled, moved, and rebuilt into a larger house, so there is a backstory and a natural connection between the buildings.

Kafé Søstuen is located right next to Gjesåsen Church, 8 km from Flisa, between Elverum and Kongsvinger, in an area with great outdoor opportunities. Combine a visit with a bike ride around Gjesåssjøen or a hike on the Østre Finneveg trail, which passes by Gjesåsen Church.
